Jafara Company, Libya, has been for many years known as the producer of foodstuff and natural juices. A special place in the hearts of consumers belongs to Harissa (sauce made of spicy pepper, traditional to Arabic kitchen) from North Africa. Owners of Jafara were among the first ones in Libya to begin the process of finding a strategic partner who would provide investment of foreign capital in Libya. Thanks to that Jafara became a member of MIMS Group in the autumn of 2005, which led to establishment of Jafara Company Ltd, with production of foodstuff as the primary activity. With this strategic move, Jafara was empowered by a partner with years-long experience in production and sales of natural juices, as well as with an approach to production with most advanced technology, all of which is managed and maintained by experts from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Today, the Libyan market recognizes this Company by production of natural juices in 10 various tastes of high quality under brand name Free Vita, and Harissa sauce.
In this short time, from September 2005 until May 2006, a total amount of 10 million Euros was invested in infrastructure, basic equipment and working capital. Before the end of 2006, the total investment amounted to 15 million Euros. Over 24.000 m² of working space was built and reconstructed in a record time, and new technology with accompanying facilities were installed, including: production and storage halls, restaurant for guests and workers, business buildings, sales and exhibit center, Tetra Pak juice equipment, water Berkefeld preparation equipment, reconstruction of heating room, energetic facilities and infrastructures, and finally, installation of software for tracking of all processes and employee training.
Installed equipment and machines are in accordance with state of the art world standards for production of foodstuffs and juices. Besides building new and reconstructing old facilities, a cooler of high capacity for storage of raw materials was built, while one more storage unit for keeping of materials necessary for production is currently in preparation stage of construction. Also, project documentation for refinement of waste water is in its final stage of preparation. The Company is also owner of a natural spring, which water quality is ensured by the state of the art refining equipment “Berkefeld”, and where the production volume is high enough to continuously keep all production capacities at work. Currently installed production capacities for Tetra Pak, Harissa and canned Juice are 70 million kilograms annually (70.000 tons). Continuous production is performed on a line for production of juices in Tetra Pak package of 1 liter, juices in aluminum cans of 240 ml and Harissa in aluminum cans of 135 g and 400 g.
